I SPENT TWO AND A HALF HOURS IN AN ENCHANTED FOREST AND ALL I GOT WAS THIS LOUSY SUNBURN

Man, trying to outsmart the willpower paradox is hard! I’m trying to not try, man, I’m trying to not try to try as hard as I can!

So I went to a different forest today. NOT the quarry, just to shake things up, do something a bit different. I decided that climbing a waterfall might be a little bit “party” so I headed to Horsnell Gully.

And oh man, it was the prettiest shit. So… it took me a very long time… because I had to stop… and photograph everything… every… two metres…

Place is clearly enchanted, and you’d think I’d get spirited away by the faeries, but, no, all I got was a mild sunburn.

Anyway it’s time to do my ORIENTING RESPONSE funtimes:

  • Still a bit more on my bar for things like the clean and press. Man it feels good to do it on the beat. SO good.
  • Went to Horsnell Gully early before things got hot. Figured a gully might be somewhat cool, and thought climbing would be interesting. Took LOTS of photos of EVERYTHING because it’s covered in flowers and it’s GORGEOUS.
  • Got some groceries. Just enough, but still, that’s all I needed to do.
  • Ate fruit and vegetables again. Drank more water. Ran out of water on the hike. Drank even more when I got home.
  • Photographed a bird that I wasn’t familiar with. It’s a red wattlebird. Now I know!
  • Now on a 3 day streak with getting the laundry away.
  • Didn’t quite… shut down a flashback… as much as expand on the troubling shit I noticed yesterday… and wondered what to do about it. Breathed through it.
  • Talked to my inner child a bit and acknowledged her feeling that things are unfair. They are. It’s unfair that my childhood didn’t let me feel the love I needed, or express my feelings.
  • Didn’t act on the thing the flashback brought up… need to think about what to do.
  • Set up a pixelfed.au account.
