Well, I got a bit excited about the camera. Then I decided I’d try to dive a little and take some photos. But I couldn’t hold my breath long, because of the cold shock response. So I kept trying, repeatedly triggering the diving reflex.
This means I did a very good job of making my autonomic nervous system do stuff. All the stuff! Up! Down! Up! Down! More energy!
Long story short I got mild hypothermia and I set off a Raynaud’s attack!
I’m smrt.
Goddammit, that means Autism SA are possibly right too, and I don’t properly feel cold. No! NO! Arghgh no.

Good shit today:
- Didn’t push myself too hard on the bike this morning. Just enjoyed the music, tried to hit the beat, completely ignored instructions to sprint.
- Gorgeous weather! Yay!
- Got a floating wrist strap for the waterproof camera. Now it won’t go straight to the bottom of Davy Jones’s locker.
- Had a nice chat with some of the other parents at both drop off and pick-up about stuff. Got another dad to join the hiking chat. Will need to try to organise something.
- Jumped into the lake! Got photos! And cold! Um. YAY.
- Look, the cold shock response explains why my face is so very special in every one of those underwater selfies.
- The laundry streak continues!
